Dr. Malterud was inducted into the American College of Dentists with a Fellowship at a Ceremony during the American Dental Association Annual meeting. This group is open to new members who are recommended by colleagues. In order to be invited, an applicant presents all their previous experience with publications teaching and leadership and if the selection committee accepts the applicant they are invited into the College.

Dr. Malterud Celebrated his 10th year of teaching as an Adjunct Faculty member of the Post Graduate Esthetics Program at the University of Minnesota. His roll in the Post Grad Program has been to teach Minimally invasive Single Appointment crowns in a lecture and hands-on presentation. This program has allowed over 450 doctors see new ways to help their patients.

Dr. Malterud had the opportunity to present his Minimally Invasive Dental philosophy and procedures to the Minnesota Academy of Restorative Dentistry in an all day lecture presentation.

Dr. Malterud took on the position of Chairman of the Dental Education council at the Academy of General Dentistry. This position allows Dr. Malterud and his council to help with the educating of many Dentists in their pursuit of knowledge.

Dr. Malterud was one of 2 delegates for the Minnesota Academy of General Dentistry and spent the weekend in Orlando at various House of Delegates meetings and votes to direct the academy in it's future.

Dr Malterud received a LLSR (Life Long Learning and Service) Award from the Academy in recognition of his commitment to Learning and service to organized dentistry. This award goes beyond Dr Malterud's Mastership in the Academy and to date less than 50 Academy members have received this award.

Dr Malterud has accepted the Chairmanship of The Dental Education Council of the Academy of General Dentistry. This 3 year commitment will allow him to work with his fellow council members to guide the Continuing education related issues presented to the Academy.

Dr Malterud participated in a course on Minimally Invasive Dentistry presented by Australian Dentist and Researcher Geoff Knight. The course was enlightening and reinforcing of his commitment to prevention and tooth preservation.

May 2008
Dr Malterud represented the Minnesota Academy of General Dentistry in Washington DC at an advocacy conference where participants met with their Congressional and Senatorial members to discuss various issues that face our dental patients.

July 10th 2004
Dr Malterud received his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry at the convocation ceremony at the AGD national meeting in Anaheim. Only 1900 dentists worldwide have received this award over the last 32 years that it has been awarded. He becomes the 11th dentist in Minnesota to receive this award. Mastership reflects Dr Malterud's commitment to continuing education and requires 1100 hours of continuing education divided between lectures and hands on courses and requires the applicant to pass a rigorous test on current dental knowledge as part of the process.

July 7-10, 2004 Anaheim
Dr Malterud served as the Minnesota Delegate for the Academy of General Dentistry during their legislative meetings and in October becomes the President-elect for the Minnesota Academy of General Dentistry.

January 16-18, 2004
Dr Malterud and his staff provided information at the Women's Expo for those participants interested in Migraine Headache, TMJ and Chronic headache relief. Hope fully we were able to help a lot of pain sufferers by getting them information on the NTI splint.

Dr Malterud had an opportunity to present to a group of marketing managers, at one of their team meetings, some of his philosophy on Minimal Invasive Dental procedures. By presenting a lecture and hands on experience for these students they were able to see the direction that doctors concerned with saving precious tooth structure are moving.
