Clenching Suppression

Your teeth are supposed to be together only for a brief moment during the chewing cycle. Anything beyond this is considered Para functional or beyond the range of normal function. This process of excess clenching can be very detrimental to your mouth and joints. Excess strain can fracture teeth, make teeth sensitive, move teeth, increase muscle discomforts, cause headaches and damage your TMJ (temporalmandibular joint). If you find yourself with your teeth together during the day then there is a greater chance that you are clenching even more firmly at night during sleep. To relieve the symptoms of excessive clenching we fabricate a clenching suppression splint (www.nti-tss.com) which effectively shuts down most of your clenching activity.
